The Galaxie Private Hotel (recently refurbished) is conveniently situated in Summertown, just north of the centre of Oxford. Although it does not have its own bar, alcoholic drinks can easily be purchased nearby. It has a lovely breakfast area which looks out to the garden.
The Punchbowl Inn, a Grade II listed building, is in the historic village of Woodstock, a few miles from Oxford to the west. The Duke of Marlborough is beyond Woodstock in a rural location. The open wood fires in the bar in Winter are especially welcoming on a cold day! Both of the Woodstock Inns have separate access to residents’ rooms. (For tours using the Woodstock accommodation the guests will be divided between the two Inns, if possible according to their preference.)
Our guesthouses have AA four star ratings, or in the case of The Punchbowl Inn three diamonds from the English Tourist Council. They provide spacious, very comfortable accommodation of a good standard. Our accommodation providers share our concern for good service and customer satisfaction. The tour guide will remain with the tour, sharing the same accommodation (except that in Woodstock the tour party will be divided between the two Inns), and therefore on hand if any problems should arise.
